RevisedCambridge Reference Sequence ("rCRS")
Two identical versions of the rCRS are available on Genbank. Either may be used and/or cited as the rCRS. AC_000021.2 is in GenBank's RefSeq database. It is the most commonly used rCRS and is the standard comparison sequence for human mtDNA research. J01415.2 is the fully corrected update of the original Cambridge sequence and is identical to AC_000021.2. You may use the links to the right or you may search Genbank for the rCRS. Version history of the J01415 CRS: J01415 gi:337188(1981-1995) preserves the original Cambridge sequence ofAnderson et al 1981. It contains the all of the rare polymorphisms as originally pubished but not the subsequent 11 error corrections of Andrews et al 1999. J01415.1 gi:1944628 (1997-2001) should not be used as it is missing one of the original rare polymorphisms ofAnderson et al 1981 and has some but not all of the rCRS corrections of Andrews et al 1999. It does not have750A (1 of the 7 rare polymorphisms),
3107del, 4985A,
11335C or
14766C
(4 of the subsequent error corrections).
J01415.2
gi:113200490
(1999-2008) is the final revision of the original Cambridge sequence.
It is fully corrected and is the same as REFSEQ AC_000021.2, gi:115315570. J01415.2 or AC_000021.2 may be used interchangeably as the rCRS reference standard. |
